The Slow-Motion Exit From the Charts

War Machine had a monster run. The sci-fi action thriller racked up over 112 million views since landing on Netflix in early March 2026, which is the kind of number that gets boardrooms excited and sequels greenlit. But charts have gravity, and the film is finally feeling it.

As of April 5, War Machine sits at #9 on Netflix’s global Top 10 Movies list — barely clinging on. In the United States, it was holding at #5 right through April 1. The next day it vanished from the domestic chart entirely and hasn’t returned. Its average global ranking has slipped to 7.5, and it no longer leads in any single country. The peak? A brief #2 in Egypt.

Alan Ritchson Carries the Weight

The film rests squarely on Ritchson’s shoulders, and he doesn’t buckle. He leads an elite squad preparing for U.S. Army Ranger selection — a punishing final exercise that should have been routine. Then an unidentified explosion kills their communications, and the situation curdles fast. What started as a training scenario becomes something darker and stranger than any of them signed up for.

The supporting cast is stacked. Dennis Quaid, Stephan James, Jai Courtney, Esai Morales, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Daniel Webber all come along for the ride. Director Patrick Hughes — working in brisk, kinetic action-movie mode — keeps the 107-minute runtime moving without much fat.
