CURIOSITYPlanet She-Hulk Is Over and Nobody Saw It Coming3 min read

The TikTok That Broke Comic Fans’ Hearts
Stephanie Phillips didn’t send a press release. She went on TikTok. Straight to camera, no PR filter, she told Planet She-Hulk readers exactly what they didn’t want to hear: the series is done. Issue #6, due April 29, will be the last one.
The gut punch came from the specifics. Phillips had already built a cliffhanger into issue #5 — loose threads everywhere, storylines mid-flight. That was supposed to be the beginning of something. Now it’s the end.

One Line Said Everything
“Issue #6 will now be the last issue of this story, which is both incredibly disappointing and really, really unexpected.”
That word — unexpected — carries the real story. Writers building an ongoing arc don’t plant cliffhangers they know will never resolve. The cancellation caught Phillips mid-sentence, narratively speaking. She had a plan. Marvel changed it.
She-Hulk had been planted on Sakaar, the savage gladiator planet that Marvel readers know from Hulk’s own exile years. Jen Walters was supposed to untangle its politics with the same sharpness she brings to a courtroom. That story now has one issue left to wrap years worth of buildup.
